Inclusive benches for street furniture | inclusion by Dimcar

New at Dimcar! Introducing Inclusion, a new line of inclusive benches designed to meet the needs of people with motor disabilities. This is our latest contribution to a cause—accessibility and equal opportunities—that serves as the starting point for everything we do.

What are inclusive benches?

Inclusive benches are designed with a clear space to allow for the positioning of a wheelchair. This inclusive spot is located at the center of the bench rather than at the edges, as is usually the case. It is a precise message of togetherness that we want to deliver firmly and decisively.

Inclusive urban furniture for cities accessible to all

Not just urban furniture: a bench is also a place for meeting and socializing and, as such, must be accessible to everyone.

This is the idea behind Dimcar's inclusive urban furniture products: to facilitate human relationships, eliminate architectural barriers, and make everyone feel involved and welcomed, without distinction.

These values are also reflected in the logo, where the two "i"s become people—one of whom has a disability—positioned on the same level. Different colors for each letter create vibrance and movement, representing a coexistence of differences and a shared identity.

The United Nations 2030 Agenda: an essential commitment

The importance of placing people at the center of city and public space design is also emphasized by the United Nations 2030 Agenda, an international framework for addressing the planet's major challenges.

“By 2030, provide universal access to safe, inclusive and accessible, green and public spaces, in particular for women and children, older persons and persons with disabilities” (Target 11.7).

This is a challenge we embraced long ago, including with the launch of the Urban Baby line, featuring urban furniture for child-friendly parks and cities, aimed at increasing social opportunities and environmental awareness among the youngest citizens.
