Our materials

Galvanized Steel

Synonymous with tradition and robustness, steel has always been the soul of Dimcar's urban furniture. Its natural resistance to mechanical stress, wear, and weathering reaches the highest standards of reliability thanks to the galvanizing process and treatment with special anti-corrosives. In the first phase, we subject the steel to a high-pressure spray wash with degreasing liquids: this effectively removes dirt, residues, and contaminants, resulting in an impurity-free surface. This ensures optimal adhesion of paints and finishes. After washing, the steel is dried for 15 minutes in a dryer. We then proceed to a first cycle of painting with an anti-corrosive primer to protect against rust and atmospheric agents: we use thermosetting powders based on epoxy resins, capable of creating a coating that preserves the original characteristics of the product over time. Furthermore, the formulation of these resins contains special pigments that allow for unique finishes, enabling high product customization and extraordinary aesthetic results. After the first painting cycle, the steel undergoes baking in an oven for 15 minutes at 180°C: this allows the anti-corrosive to polymerize, making the surface waterproof and even more resistant. At this point, we proceed with a final painting cycle using thermosetting powder based on polyester resins: an eco-friendly choice, as it does not involve the use of liquid solvents, eliminates the emission of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and reduces waste. The use of electrostatic spray equipment ensures a perfect distribution of the powder even in the most difficult-to-reach spots: the result is a compact and uniform surface, free of imperfections. The baking in an oven for 20 minutes at 160°C completes the process. This creates a steel that defies time, a perfect mix of functionality and design that minimizes the need for maintenance.

Stainless Steel

Stainless Steel: the choice that combines unalterable aesthetic purity with eternal resistance, the result of a perfect chemical balance for zero-maintenance urban furniture that successfully defies time. Synonymous with purity and resistance, stainless steel is the natural evolution of the steel core that has always defined Dimcar's urban furniture. Its innate ability to resist corrosion and oxidizing agents reaches the highest standards of reliability thanks to a skillful balance in its composition. Its noble alloy, enriched with a precise percentage of Chromium and Nickel, creates a compact and stable molecular structure. This intrinsic process forms a passive protective layer, invisible yet tenacious, that regenerates itself to shield the product from chemical and environmental attacks. The result is a surface that not only maintains its shine but guarantees a structural longevity that defies time. Thus, a piece of furniture is born that combines impeccable functionality with an aesthetic that knows no wear, reducing the need for maintenance to zero.

Corten Steel

The Evolutionary Strength of Corten Steel: the metal that protects itself, transforming exposure to time and the elements into an impenetrable protective barrier, for exceptional robustness and a unique textured aesthetic. Robust, textured, alive. Corten steel is the most evolved expression of the metal's soul, a material that does not succumb to atmospheric agents but uses them to complete its own finishing process. Its special chemical composition triggers a controlled oxidation process that, instead of corroding the structure, creates a natural and impenetrable protective barrier. This patina, with its warm brown hues, is the result of a treatment that continues over time, making each product unique and increasingly resistant. Wood planks

Okoumé, Nordic Pine, and Iroko: surfaces that bring nature into the heart of the urban space. For more sustainable and humane cities. Water-repellent, durable, certified: the wood we use for Dimcar urban furniture comes from responsibly managed forests and is resistant to humidity, atmospheric agents, mold, and wear. We select Okoumé, Nordic Pine, and Iroko varieties, among the most durable woods suitable for outdoor use, even in challenging environmental conditions. In combination with galvanized steel, wood creates a perception of well-being to the touch and sight. Furthermore, with its sound-absorbing properties, it helps reduce noise pollution in crowded spaces. Versatile and easy to work with, Dimcar's wooden products lend themselves to a wide range of customizations: in their natural state to enhance the beauty of the grain, or treated to achieve unique textures and color effects. We always choose water-based pigmented finishes: odorless and eco-friendly, with low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), making them safer for the environment and people.

WPC (Wood Plastic Composite)

Laminated glass

Bright, modern, essential. It opens the horizon to a linear and minimal design, for urban spaces that communicate freedom and cleanliness. Two sheets of glass held together by a layer of plastic resin, PVB (polyvinyl butyral): this is the profile of the laminated glass featured in Dimcar's urban furniture lines. A material that combines transparency with a solid core: its structure makes laminated glass very resistant to impacts and acts of vandalism. And even if the sheet were to break, safety is still guaranteed: the inner PVB layer holds the fragments together and prevents sharp shards from detaching. Furthermore, the plastic film absorbs sound vibrations and blocks UV rays, improving acoustic insulation and protecting people and materials from sun exposure.

Polycarbonate

Flexible and lightweight, resistant to impacts and UV rays. The solution that reconciles bold design and safety. Prolonged sun exposure, hailstorms, acts of vandalism: polycarbonate is not afraid of impacts, atmospheric agents, or wear. 50% lighter than glass sheets, it combines this lightness with high resistance and the ability to maintain its original appearance over time. These characteristics make it a perfect material for glazing in public and work environments in compliance with current safety regulations. Customization and ease of installation are two other advantages linked to the flexibility of this material: polycarbonate products reduce positioning and removal costs and times; moreover, they can be easily molded onto curved surfaces, even complex ones, without losing structural resistance. For Dimcar urban furniture, we use: ? solid polycarbonate, in projects that require high transparency and mechanical resistance ? multi-wall polycarbonate, for applications that require thermal and acoustic insulation and reduced weight.
