Puglia Region, funding for sustainable mobility

A total of 3 million euros to promote cycling mobility and the use of bicycles as a means of transport in Puglia. This is how the Region is gathering ideas and projects for the construction of new bike stations near railway stations, to increase the competitiveness and efficiency of local transport through bike-train and bike-bus intermodality, and to reduce road congestion and the risk of accidents.

Apulian municipal administrations whose territory includes a railway station;

Which projects will be funded?

The subject of funding is the construction of bike stations and related directional signage.

Maximum contribution per project € 300,000

Total available resources € 3,000,000

Each project proposal must ensure that the bike station is:

• located inside or near the railway station;

• built using an existing disused and/or to-be-redeveloped structure; or a newly built structure, including prefabricated units;

• equipped with design solutions aimed at ensuring energy efficiency, sustainable construction, and energy production from renewable sources for self-consumption; installation of lighting fixtures equipped with solar sensors for self-regulation based on daylight;

• equipped with spaces dedicated to bicycle storage and urban mobility aids for people with disabilities; dedicated electric charging points for bicycles; at least one area to be used as a bicycle repair shop for velocipedes and urban mobility aids for people with disabilities;
